If you put guide rails closer to the hammer head, it will eliminate the wobble

Nobody cares about whatever this is nor do they care about your personal life. People want to see homemade weapons and armor. You are losing subs at a fairly constant rate, and this is why. I dont khow what a treadle hammer is but wouldn't it make more sense for your foot pushing down to lift the hammer then you let go and it comes down with gravity

A future upgrade could be a piston arm for stability at the midpoint of the hammer, it would help with that side-to-side issue.

If you can put a couple gears on there to let your leg go further down, it will also add torque. You can definitely go faster with the leg, and it will be a harder hit to the metal. Maybe a 1-1.5 or 1-2 ratio could do it.

Great vid. I think sometimes a treadle hammer is used when you require both hands to hold steel and a tool. Then you can strike the tool on the metal with your foot driven hammer. You probably already knew that though.😇
